Amelia Pozzutti

April 21, 1919 — February 22, 2021

“A mother’s gentle spirit is a treasure that makes her family rich in many ways. Her goodness shines through all her love and kindness and brightens up their days.”

It is with great sadness that we say good-bye to our mother, Amelia Metz Pozzuti (Patsy) who passed at the age of 101.

Amelia was born April 21, 1919 in Erie the daughter of Thomas and Pasqueline Martino Metz.  She was the fifth child of seven girls. In 1935, she married the love of her life, Anthony Patsy (Pozzutti). They proceeded to have three children, Anthony (Snookey) who died as a young child; Donald A. Patsy and his wife Carol of Erie and Marcia Brazus of Fairview.

Millie worked as proprietor of Theresa’s deli and later worked with her sister Viola at Wydee Dydee for many years. She enjoyed the simple things in life, bowling at the Nouva Aurora club and playing cards with her club ladies. She enjoyed meeting people and loved to spend time talking to everyone she met. Eating out and playing the slots were also on her list of favorites. Millie would laugh at life’s troubles, and sought peace in her rosary and prayer.

Besides her parents, her beloved husband Anthony, and her son Snookey, Millie was preceded in death by five sisters; Carmelita Morabito, Mary Nardi, Margaret Metz, Viola Metz, and Edith Grignol along with her son-in-law, Richard Brazus.

Millie is survived by her children Donald and Marcia along with a sister Rachel Metz; four grandsons, Donald A. Patsy, Jr. (Martha), Anthony Patsy (Holly), John Patsy (Carolyn) and Michael Patsy (Sheila); three step-grandchildren, David Brazus, Jennifer Kerne, and Michelle Brazus. She is further survived by 10 great-grandchildren; 7 step great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews.

Millie’s family would like to thank the LECOM Senior Living Center nurses and aides on the fourth floor wing for the care and compassion shown to their mother.
