Norman D. Wilson, age 81, of Erie and formerly of Del Mar, California, passed away on Wednesday September 14, 2022 at UPMC Hamot.

He was born in Erie on September 2, 1941, a son of the late Norman Wilson and Jeanne Hall Wilson Sully.

Norman attended the Erie Day School, graduated from Bel-Aire Town and Country Elementary School in Los Angeles, CA and graduated from the Webb School in Claremont, CA.

In 1963, he received his BA degree in Roman and Latin Classics from Syracuse University, where he was a member of Beta Theta Pi Fraternity.

Norm worked in Human Resources at Hammermill Paper Company from 1964-1979.

Norm’s athletic prowess included tennis, skiing and high school baseball.  He was one of the original ski instructors at Peek’n Peak Resort in Clymer, NY.  He competed in tennis, both in Erie and California.  He enjoyed playing tennis and paddle tennis year round with his friends at the Kahkwa Club.

He was a former member of the Episcopal Cathedral of St. Paul; and previously belonged to the Erie Yacht Club, Kahkwa Club, LaJoya Club and the Aviation Club.

His love for animals, particularly his Weimaraner Dogs, Wolfgang and Franz was only superseded by his love of the Lord.  He was very spiritual and put his trust in the Lord.
