Norma L. Harrington

Norma L. Harrington, age 93, of Erie passed away on Thursday August 27, 2026 at Manchester Commons. She was born on December 14, 1932 in Detroit MI, the daughter of Dolf and Violet Smith Parent.

Norma graduated from Kalamazoo High School and attended classes at Kalamazoo College. She raised four children while helping her husband and sons with business affairs. She was a community leader in her volunteer roles in PEO Chapter X, Erie Art Museum and Meals on Wheels. She was an active member of Wayside Presbyterian Church and Kahkwa Club. She enjoyed playing golf and tennis.

Norma was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Harold “Hal” Harrington, her daughter, Paula Robertson, grandson, Chad Robertson, granddaughter, Sarah Harrington and brother, Jim Parent.

She is survived by her three sons Tim (Karen), Tom (Kim) and David (Jeanne-Marie); grandchildren, Becca Harrington, Amy Churchill (Bryan), Melissa Wygant (Tom), Jennilee Ostrander (Josh), Kayleigh Harrington, Daniel Harrington, Josh Harrington, Garett Lewis, and Jillian (Josh) Anderson; great grandchildren, Lily Anderson, Halle (John) MacKenzie, Kevin, Josh, Payton, Jace, Brookelynn and Logan and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call on the family at the Wayside Presbyterian Church, 1208 Asbury Rd., Erie, PA 16505 on Wednesday September 23rd from 10:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM. The family would like to thank Manchester Commons for their care towards Norma, including the staff at Woodside Place and Avonia Springs. A special heartfelt thank you to Norma’s helpers who put everything they have, to love Norma like their own. The care and companion they showed was unmatched. Thank you to Brittany, Carolyn, Mary Beth, Robin, Terri and “her guy” Chucky. We thank you all.
