Norbert Hannen

Norbert R. “Butch” Hannen age 73 of Erie, died quietly at home on Saturday, July 5, 2014. He was born in Pittsburgh, Pa. on September 24, 1940 a son of the late Melvin and Mildred Hoover Hannen. He was a student at Fifth Avenue High School and worked in housekeeping for many years with the Eye and Ear and Presbyterian Hospitals in Pittsburgh. He was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates. He and his wife Dolores enjoyed working on puzzles together and taking care of each other. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters Marion and Ann Hannen. In addition to his wife he is survived by a sister Evelyn Sarver (Dalvin) of South Carolina as well as a niece and a nephew. Friends may call at Burton Funeral Home and Crematory Inc., 602 west 10th Street, Erie, Pa. 16502 on Tuesday from 11:00 am till 1:00 pm. There will be a brief service of sharing preceding the burial in Erie Cemetery.
