Nicholas Collins

     Nicholas "Greek" William Collins, 62, of Grapevine, Texas, and formerly of Erie, died on June 17, 2012.
     He was born June 17, 1950 in Oil City, Pennsylvania, the son of Nicholas and Helen Deets Collins.
     Nick attended Oil City High School and Gannon University, where he obtained a degree in finance.  He was involved in the furniture industry for 25 years, working for Corry-Hiebert Corporation (previously Corry-Jamestown) in Corry, Pennsylvania and in Dallas, Texas where he was a project manager.  He also worked for Haworth Corporation in Dallas.  He was a member of the Trinity Methodist Episcopal Church, Oil City, Pennsylvania and a member of Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #1818, Grand Prairie, Texas.  Nick was also an Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America.
     Nick was a kind and caring man who adored his children.  He was an Official Umpire and enjoyed all sports, particularly watching high school football and the Dallas Cowboys.  He loved singing karaoke.
     He was preceded in death by his parents Nicholas and Helen Collins and an infant brother Constantinos.
     Survivors include his son Patrick Collins, daughter Maureen Collins and her husband Eric Beene of Grapevine, TX, his beloved mother-in-law, Mary M. McMahon, and cherished friends Maggie McMahon Collins and Walt Tecza. 
     A memorial will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 16, 2012 at Sunset Hill Memorial Gardens, 6615 US Route 322, Cranberry, PA, followed immediately by internment. 
     To offset funeral expenses and in lieu of flowers, charitable donations may be made to the family in care of Scott Funeral Home, 2104 Myrtle St., Erie, PA 16502.
