Nancy Frank Baldwin Sturtevant

Nancy Frank Baldwin Sturtevant, passed away on Saturday, May 17, 2025 peacefully and gracefully, surrounded by her family. She enjoyed a wonderful life for almost 100 years.

Nancy was born on June 22, 1925, and was the daughter of George K and Pauline Blakely Frank. She graduated from Strong Vincent High School in 1942 and was employed as a dental assistant to Dr. John McElroy while attending evening classes at Gannon School of Arts and Science. In 1946 Nancy entered the United State World War II Army Nurses Cadet Corp at Presbyterian Hospital School of Nursing in Pittsburgh PA, graduating and receiving her RN in 1946. While employed by the Visiting Nurses Association, she attended classes at Villa Maria College, then entered the University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing Cooperative Program while working weekends at Children’s Hospital. Nancy was later employed by the City of Erie as a School Nurse.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of the Covenant and attended its first Sunday service in 1930, participated in the choir, served as a deacon and was a Sunday School teacher. Nancy enjoyed volunteer work and served as Secretary and board member for the Junior League of Erie, The Erie Infants Home, Sarah A Reed, Carrie T Watson Garden Club, and The Tuesday Niners and Art League at Ocean Reef Club in Key Largo, FL. She was a tutor for the Laubach Literacy Action Program, a member of the US Coast Guard Auxiliary, a life member of the 10th Mountain Division Roster and a member of the Special Honor Roll of the United States Cadet Nurse Corp.

She married Arthur W. Baldwin in 1949, and they raised four children, and enjoyed 53 years together. In 2005, she married Roger Granville Sturtevant and they enjoyed 20 very happy years together. She was a devoted daughter, wife and mother, and exuded kindness, thoughtfulness and grace throughout her entire life. Nancy was loved and adored by her family and all who knew her.

Preceding Nancy in death were her parents; her brothers, Charles Robert Frank and David Phillip Frank; her husband of 53 years, Arthur W Baldwin, and her second husband of 20 years, Roger G Sturtevant.

Nancy is survived by her children: Daniel G Baldwin (Karen), Boulder, CO, William A Baldwin, Erie, Patty A Baldwin (Brian Pardini) Fairview, Carol B Geiger (Mike) Fairview. She is also survived by her stepchildren Susan Sturtevant Dailey, Houston, TX, Roger Sturtevant Jr. (Kathy), Bridgetown, NS, Canada, Robert Sturtevant (Peggy), Plymouth, IN, and David Sturtevant (Sue), Mercer Island, WA; ten grandchildren, Adam Baldwin (Gledis), Matthew Baldwin, Jonathon Baldwin (Sara), Nicholas Geiger (Jessica), Jesse Geiger (Emmy), Cassie Geiger (Hank), Myrrah Pardini (Seth), Ara Pardini (Bridget), Aja Pardini, and Eammon Pardini. Nancy is also survived by 16 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Nancy and her family are so grateful for her personal care aides and called them her “Angels”, Vicky DeVitto, Heather White, Marie Sclera, Mary Mehl, and her caring physician Robert Geiger DO.

Friends are invited to visit on Friday, May 23, 2025, from 3:00 pm until the time of the service at 5:00 pm at Burton Quinn Scott Cremation & Funerals Services Inc, West Ridge, 3801 W. 26th St.
