Nancy Theresa Thomas Durlin, age 94, of Edinboro, passed away on January 5, 2026, at LECOM Senior Living.
She was born in Erie PA on September 20, 1931, a daughter of the late Leonard and Madeline Strickler Thomas.
Nancy graduated from McDowell High School and was employed as a nurse aide for Erie County Hospital and Rouse County Home for 25 years, as well as working with children.
She was a Master Gardener and enjoyed playing Bingo and was an avid reader. She and her husband were leaders of the Methodist Youth Fellowship. She had been a past member of Girard Alliance Church where she and her husband helped with the summer camps and together had run a camp in Arizona. She was a gold star mother and a foster parent to many.
In addition to her parents, Nancy was predeceased by her husband Jack in 2023, children: John Stewart and Anna Marie Durlin; son-in-law Mark Charles; as well as her sister Marita Thomas.
Nancy is survived by her two daughters: Theresa Durlin of Erie, Sally Charles of Albion; three sons: Roger Durlin (Ann) of Mill Village, Charles “Chuck” Durlin (Nok) of Washington, Michael Durlin (Mary) of Girard, her siblings Patricia Hartley of Florida and Leonard Thomas and Gary Thomas. Further survived by eight grandchildren; eight great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and dear friend Audrey Cornell.
Friends may call at Burton Funeral Home, 525 Main Street East, Girard, on Monday January 12, 2026, from 4:00pm until the time of the service at 7:00pm.
