Nancy E. Bainbridge age 80, of Erie, passed away on Saturday, January 10, 2026 at St. Vincent.
She was born in Erie on August 2, 1945, and she was a daughter of the late Harvey and Naomi Weed Fohner.
Nancy was a 1963 graduate of McDowell High School.
She was a talented artisan in many disciplines. Her favorite artistic pursuit was painting, an area in which she excelled. Nancy consistently earned multiple awards each year at the Millcreek Art Show, and she was frequently recognized with honors in other local exhibitions as well. She spent many years earning a living sculpting bread clay ornaments that she sold at most of the major craft fairs in the tri state area. Other artistic pursuits included making scrapbook journals, basket weaving, and chair caning.
Apart from her involvement in the more concrete arts, she was also a major fan and supporter of the ephemeral arts of music and live theater, having attended uncountable music festivals, live concerts, and theater performances of all genres throughout her life.
Another lifelong passion was traveling with her husband and family. Two of her favorite places to visit were London, England and Skyline Drive in Shenandoah National Park.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Bainbridge.
She is survived by two sons, William G. Bainbridge and Daniel B. Bainbridge; two granddaughters, Jessica Bainbridge and Andrea Trojanovich; grandson, William Bainbridge III; and a sister, Margi Quadri.
