Melissa Fiolek Carner

Melissa "Missy" Fiolek Carner, 52, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, August 7, 2026, with her devoted husband by her side.

Born in Erie on September 17, 1973, she was the beloved daughter of the late Edward Fiolek and Nancy (Rouse) Fiolek.

Melissa found joy in the simple moments of life. She loved decorating her home for every season, creating a warm and welcoming place for family and friends. She treasured sleepovers with her grandchildren, spending hours working on diamond art in her kitchen, and relaxing beside her husband while watching their favorite television shows, Friends and The Big Bang Theory. Each year, Melissa and Tracy looked forward to making special memories together with trips to Brant's Apple Orchard, White Turkey Drive-In, and Geneva-on-the-Lake.

To know Missy was to love her. She had the kindest heart, the brightest smile, and a laugh that could light up any room. Though small in stature, she gave the biggest hugs and made everyone around her feel so loved. Gentle, compassionate, and selfless, she was also fiercely protective of her children and grandchildren, whom she loved with all her heart. Melissa's love for her family was unwavering, but the love she shared with her husband, Tracy, was truly extraordinary. Their bond was one built on deep devotion, friendship, and unconditional love—a rare and beautiful love admired by all who knew them. Melissa was Tracy's calm in every storm, bringing peace, comfort, and unwavering support throughout their life together.

Melissa will be remembered for her generous spirit, her endless love for her family, and the countless cherished memories she leaves behind. Her legacy of kindness, compassion, and unconditional love will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.

In addition to her parents, Melissa was preceded in death by her beloved son, Brenden Fiolek, whom she missed dearly and carried in her heart every day.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Tracy Carner; her children, Lacey Fiolek, Sarah Carner, Eric Carner, Cherie Ebert Carner, Amber Klauk, Nathan Carner, and Austin Carner; and her cherished grandchildren, Grayson Collins, Gracie Brown, Cameron and Tyler Reed, Noah Ebert, Lilly and Olivia Carner, Liam, Todd, and Noah Klauk, Max and Hunter Carner, and Annabelle Lace; brother, Jeff Fiolek (wife Tiffany) and their children Emmalee and Alexis; and mother-in-law Joan Aiello. 

Melissa also leaves behind her two beloved cats, 8 Ball and Harlee, who were treasured members of the family and brought her great comfort and companionship.

Friends are invited to call at Burton Funeral Home, 525 Main Street East, Girard, on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, from 4:00pm until the time of service at 6:00pm.
