Matthew Marasco

Matthew J. Marasco, age 41 of Fairview, departed this life Wednesday, February 8, 2023. Matthew was born on August 27, 1981, the son of Diane Huegel Marasco and the late Dr. Richard M. Marasco. Matthew was a beloved son, brother, and uncle.

Matthew graduated from Our Lady’s Christian School (OLCS) and was a 1999 graduate of Fairview High School. Matt worked many years with Scott Stewart Concrete as a talented mason and more recently with Chivers Construction. As an adolescent, Matthew was an avid outdoorsman, riding and racing ATV’s and BMX, snowmobiling, snowboarding, and hunting. His love for mechanics and desire to tinker transformed into his adult passion for working on and riding motorcycles, resulting in the meticulous fabrication and building of his own custom motorcycle.  Matthew was also the family historian, remembering and recalling family stories from different generations.

 Matthew was a humble, loyal, kind, generous, and selfless individual who focused on helping others and never expected anything in return. He loved his dogs – Burton and Puppy. His future was filled with much hope and optimism yet the life of our sweet and gentle Matthew sadly ended way too soon. Matthew has finally achieved peace and has been reunited with his father. Matthew, together with the angels, will watch over us that remain. He will be missed dearly by his family and friends.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his two brothers: Michael Marasco of Colorado; Mark Marasco and his wife Tracey of New Jersey; a sister Leslie Kocher and her husband Scott of Indiana; nieces and nephews: Ronin, Morgan and Mason Marasco. Friends may call at the Burton Quinn Scott Cremation and Funeral Services, at West Ridge, 3801 West 26^th St. Erie on Wednesday from 4 to 8pm and may attend services there on Thursday at 11am.
