Mark Gates

Mark (Markie) Alan Gates age 61, of Erie passed away on Monday, June 6, 2022 at St. Vincent Hospital.

He was born in Erie on November 17, 1960 a son of Johann Cherry Fucci and the late Lloyd Gates.

Mark was an auto-body technician who worked at various auto body shops in Erie.

He enjoyed motocross, fishing, restoring old cars and drawing. He also enjoyed playing bluegrass music on his guitar sitting around a fire. Mark was a professional ball buster who will be missed by all.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his step-father, Ralph Fucci; grandmother, Theola Glosser; a sister-in-law, Deborah Gates and an uncle, Robert Cherry.  

He is survived by his mother, Johann Fucci; a daughter, Makenzie Storm Gates; his beloved granddaughter, Kynlei Rayne Pytlarz; a sister, Deborah Schwab; two brothers, Steve Gates and Dean Gates and his wife Ann; special companion, Diane Himelein; three step brothers, Dan Gates (Lori), Mike Gates (Doreen) and Tom Gates; nieces and nephews, Jerry (Denise) Schwab, Tracy Schwab (fiancé Dion Clemente), Lacy Costlow (John), Larae Jimenez; great nieces and nephews, Gage and Leannah Schwab and Brandon Madura, Brittany Ballew, Kollin Schwab, Kalynne Matter (Makensey) and Cayden Schwab; an uncle, Gary Glosser; an aunt, Martha Lowes and a very special friend, Vicky Brackenbury. He will be further missed by his dog Lilly and many nieces and nephews. .

Friends may call at the Burton Quinn Scott Cremation and Funeral Services, West Ridge, 3801 W. 26^th Street on Tuesday from 5:00 p.m until the time of service at 7:00 p.m.
