Marie Elizabeth DiTullio, age 103, of Erie passed away Sunday, July 12, 2026, peacefully at home. She was born May 16, 1923 on 17th street in Erie’s Little Italy at a time when it wasn’t necessary to lock your doors. In recent times, she often talked about walking back home. She was the daughter of the late Frank and Margaret Sunseri. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer J. DiTullio and her siblings: Augusta Frazzini, Vincy Cipolla, Lena Sunseri, Josephine Picardo, Sam Sunseri, Paul Sunseri, and Joseph Sunseri.
Marie is survived by her son, James DiTullio and his wife Mary Alice as well as many nieces, nephews, four step grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
In her early years, one of her first jobs was selling nuts at Erie’s Central Market at Christmas time. She later worked for many years as a sales clerk in the dress departments at the Boston Store and Carlisle’s. She was an active member of St. Paul RC Church and their Rosary Altar Society and made many friends while working the spaghetti dinners and numerous church functions. Some of her favorite things were cooking, especially for family get togethers over the holidays; watching Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy, and Columbo. She also enjoyed watching golf on TV, though she never played the game.
Marie never complained; she had a very kind heart and humble disposition. She will be greatly missed.
