Marie Delio

Marie Alvarez Delio, age 95, formerly of Erie, passed away August 9, 2022 in Gardner, MA.

She was born in Erie, on October 1, 1926, a daughter of the late Anthony and Isabelle (Cambra) Alvarez.

Marie graduated from Strong Vincent High School.

She was a founding member of Our Lady of Peace Church.  Marie enjoyed cooking, reading – especially Danielle Steele books and spending time with her family.  Marie prayed the rosary every day.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James F. Delio in 2011; and her siblings, Dolores Shanks and Vincent Alvarez.

Marie is survived by two daughters, Cheryl (Charles) Fleming of Lake Wylie, SC and Deborah (Patrick) Higgins of Winter Haven, FL; and a sister, Geri Alvarez Putnam. She is further survived by eight grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

There will be no visitation.  Friends are invited to Quinn Funeral Home, West 9^th & Liberty St., on Tuesday, October 4^th.  A parish rosary will be recited at 10:30 AM, with the funeral service immediately following at 11AM.

Entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
