Marie Dandrea DeCarlucci, age 97, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 5, 2023 at her residence in Erie.
Marie was born in Uniontown, PA on November 27, 1925, the daughter of the late James and Eva Dandrea. Marie moved to Erie with her husband Henry and son Charles in 1953 and always considered Erie her home. Marie and Henry were instrumental in bringing her family to the Erie area.
Marie graduated from Uniontown High School and attended her 70th reunion. She helped her husband Henry run Henri Hair Fashions in the Colony Plaza and she lived the longest in the family home on South Tracy Drive. Marie was devoted and loving to her husband Henry, son Chuck, and grandson Christopher.
Marie enjoyed walking Presque Isle, playing bridge with her friends and in particular reading. She also volunteered at the Regional Cancer Center and Meals on Wheels. She was a kind and gentle woman who was quiet, but on occasion would speak her mind. Marie enjoyed every day, always kept a positive attitude, made the best of every situation and always reminded everyone how important family is.
Marie is survived by her son Charles DeCarlucci, grandson Christopher, sisters- in- law, Laverne and Bonnie Dandrea and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Henry; three sisters Lois Monahan, Evelyn Mozur, and Rita Masi; three brothers, Peter Dandrea, Donald "Duke" Dandrea, and James Dandrea Jr., and brothers-in-law, Richard Mozur and Dwain Monahan.
Friends are invited to call at St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church, 2801 W.6th St. on Friday, November 10, 2023 from 9:00 am until 10:00 am at which time a Funeral Mass will be celebrated. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the UPMC Hillman Cancer Center, 2500 W.12th St., Erie, PA 16505.
