Margaret Elizabeth Plavcan

Margaret Elizabeth Plavcan passed away Tuesday, March 28, 2023, at the age of 81.

She was born in Erie on March 24, 1942, a daughter of the late George and Margaret (Wolf) Plavcan.

She graduated from Academy High School, class of 1961. Marge, or Margie, as most knew her, at St. Vincent Hospital for 36 years in the dietary department. Following her time at St. Vincent, she worked at St. Mary’s Home of Erie East for 15 years in the dietary department there as well, until her retirement.

Marge loved a good seek and find or crossword puzzle, gardening, and had a special place in her heart for her dogs. She enjoyed traveling with her best friend, Mary, they ventured to Acapulco, Hawaii, and Ireland. She would reminisce about traveling to Ireland and San Antonio quite often.

She is survived by her brothers; John G. Plavcan and George Plavcan, of Erie; a sister, Dora Ann Gondo, of Tennessee. She is further survived by several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and nephews, as well as cousins.

Friends and family are invited to attend a Funeral Service at Burton Quinn-Scott, West Ridge, 3801 West 26^th Street, Erie on Friday, March 31, 2023 at 12 pm. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Humane Society, Anna Shelter, Julia’s Hospice and Palliative Care, P.O. Box 353, McKean, PA, or to the charity of one’s choice.
