Margaret E. “Peg” McAlister Lundstrom, age 67, passed away on Friday, February 27, 2026, at LECOM Nursing and Rehab.
Born in Erie on April 14, 1958, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Autumn McAlister. Peg graduated from Strong Vincent High School in 1976 and pursued her calling to care for others at the Erie County Vo-Tech, where she trained as a nurse’s aide. For over 20 years, she served her community with compassion at the Barber National Institute and Health South. After her career in healthcare, Peg embraced a new chapter working alongside the love of her life to own and operate Clancy’s Pub and Pizza for another 20 years.
Those who knew Peg will remember a woman defined by her upbeat spirit, unwavering work ethic, and joyful approach to life. She genuinely enjoyed life, yet carried a quiet, stoic, strength that saw her through life’s challenges. Above all, she was a devoted wife, mother, and a warm friend. She poured her heart into her family, instilling core values in her children that shaped them into the people they became. Her legacy lives on in the respect, kindness, and love she modeled for her family and friends every day.
A member of St. Patrick’s Church and the Eastern Star, Peg found joy in the simple things—practicing yoga, swimming, and most importantly, gathering with those she held dear. Her love for her family and friends was profound, and she will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 40 years, Martin Lundstrom; her daughter, Autumn Lundstrom Elders; her brother, Sean McAlister; and her sister, Jennifer Kader.
Peg is survived by her son, Axel Lundstrom (Marissa) of Broomfield, CO; her sister, Leora Kramer (George) of Erie; and her sister-in-law, Hilary McAlister of Erie. She is further survived by her cherished grandchildren, Harry and Hazel Lundstrom, Quinn and Althea Elders, and Jackson Padgett, along with several nieces and nephews.
A Reception of Friends will be held at St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church, 130 E. 4th St., Erie, PA on Thursday March 5, 2026 from 9:30 A.M. until the time of Funeral Mass at 10:30 A.M. officiated by Fr. Michael DeMartinis.
Memorials may be made to the ANNA Shelter, 1555 East 10th St., Erie, PA 16511.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Burton Quinn Scott Cremation & Funeral Services Inc. Wintergreen, 2532 Norcross Rd., Erie, PA 16511.
