Margaret Ann Adams

Margaret Ann Adams, age 90 of McKean, passed away June 4, 2025 at Manchester Commons after an extended illness.

She was born in Meadville on July 12, 1934, a daughter of the late Elmer and Rosella Reinersman Schirmer.

Margaret graduated from Edinboro High School in 1952 and attended business school in Erie. Margaret worked at several Erie companies as a bookkeeper before becoming a wife and devoted mother to five children.

She was a member of St. Francis Xavier Church of McKean and served as a religious education teacher for many years, as well as participating in prayer groups and the Altar Rosary Society. Margaret enjoyed spending time with her family, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert Jay Adams, whom she married in 1962; three brothers, Ralph Schirmer, Howard Schirmer, and Lawrence Schirmer, and a sister Mildred Durasa.

Margaret is survived by their five children, Robert J. Adams, Jr. of Edinboro, Beth Zewe (Michael) of Cranesville, Amy Gierlak (Daniel) of Edinboro, Laurie Pfeiffer (Eric) of Edinboro, and Patricia Adams (Lee Farley) of McKean; 17 grandchildren, Jacob Adams, Jacqueline Blood, Thomas Adams, Megan Kissman, Michelle Markley, Matthew Zewe, Alexandria Brandt, Joseph Gierlak, Lauren Ruffin, Noah Pfeiffer, Gabriel Pfeiffer, Hanna Pfeiffer, Sam Ponsford, Alison Watkins, Kennedy Watkins, Benjamin Watkins, Emalee Farley, and 13 great grandchildren, Colt, Charlotte, Levi, Sophie, Kiele, David, Michael, Caroline, Jay, Liam, Brooks, Ellis, and Lincoln. In addition, Margaret is survived by a brother-in-law, Thomas Adams (Florida), and a sister-in-law, Shirley Adams (Fairview), and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to call on the family at Burton Scott Quinn Funeral Home at 3801 W. 26th St. (at Powell Ave.) Erie on Wednesday, June 11th from 4pm to 7pm and are invited to a a mass of Christian burial on Thursday, June 12th at 10:00 a.m. at St. Francis Xavier Church, 8880 Main St., McKean, PA 16426 with Celebrant Jason Feigh. Burial will be in St. James Cemetery in Crossingville, PA.
