Lynette Mcdonald

April 9, 1951 — January 19, 2013

Lynette M. Passerotti Gant McDonald, age 61, of North East passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family, following a courageous battle with cancer, on Saturday January 19, 2013.

Lynette was born in Erie on April 9, 1951 a daughter of the late William and Virginia Martinez Passerotti. She graduated from Strong Vincent High School and was an inspector for Johnson Control and Carlisle Industries.

Lynette was a respected Elder of the Seneca Nation of Indians.

She enjoyed shopping, movies, sewing and playing games. She was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan and never missed a game. Above all she loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and never missed an opportunity to spend time with her family and friends.

Lynette was preceded in death by her first husband Francis E. Gant.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband Okley K. McDonald; two sons, Frank (Kim) Gant and Rick (Colleen) Gant both of Erie; two step children Kathleen (Jon) DiStrola of Bradford and Michael Andrew McDonald (Shannon) of Joplin, Mo.; fourteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Also cherishing her memory are two brothers and seven sisters: William Passerotti (Susan) and Michael Passerotti (Brenda), both of Erie; Theresa Kaldorf (Mike), of Pittsburgh, Mary "Kitty" Waldinger (Daryl), Pamela Passerotti, Lisa Tirpak (Donald), Valerie Russell (James), Paula Tatalone (Dennis), and Tammie Corsi (Anthony), all of Erie, and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends may call at the Burton Wintergreen Funeral Home 2532 Norcross Road on Wednesday from 2-5 and 7-9 pm are invited to a service there on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. with Msgr. Daniel K. Arnold officiating. Burial will follow in Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery.

The family would like to thank the caring staffs of Hospice of Metropolitan Erie, the Erie and Buffalo VA Medical Centers and Roswell Park Cancer Center for the loving care she received during her illness.
