Lucille Lomax

July 13, 1918 — January 5, 2024

Lucille Lomax, age 105, of Erie, passed away on Friday January 5, 2024 at Lecom Village Square.   She was born on July 13, 1918 in Leaksville, MS, a daughter of the late Dora Starks and Lee Andrew Sumlin.

Lucille worked for many years as a sanitation assistant at Hamot Medical Center until her retirement.   She was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Bogan Lomax, her son Wright Whigham, sister Louise Mulligan and four brothers: Arthur Sumlin, Lee Andrew Jr. Sumlin, Jessie Sumlin, and Walter Sumlin.

Lucille is survived by her caregiver and niece Patricia Sumlin; a sister Dorothy Chapman; nieces Alicia Floyd, Jacque Sumlin, Vickie Sumlin, and Louise Mulligan;  nephews Ricky Sumlin, Arthur Sumlin, Tyrone Sumlin, Dwayne Mulligan, and Reginald Sumlin.   She is further survived by her great nieces Kennisha Collins and Lia Watson and her dear friend Regina Edwards.

Family and Friends are invited to a graveside service at Erie Cemetery, Section P, on Saturday January 13, 2024 at 2pm.
