Louis F. Becker, age 86, of Erie, passed away on Friday August 22, 2025, at his home.

He was born in Erie on September 22, 1938, a son to the late Joseph and Beatrice (Fourspring) Becker.

Louis graduated from Academy High school in 1956 and later served in the US Air Force.

He worked as a construction electrician at Al-Tech Specialty Steel in Dunkirk NY. He was a member of Perry Keystone Masonic Lodge #392.

Lou lived a life of service to his community as a volunteer member of West Ridge Fire Department, where he served as fire fighter and fire police. He attained the rank of lieutenant while devoting 60 years of volunteer service until his passing. Lou loved each day to stand beside his brothers at West Ridge. They were his best friends and always there to share a story.

In 1970, Lou and Jo built their camp in Cherry Grove, PA which would become a favorite place to create memories with family and friends. Just until his passing he was there with his sons and grandson, getting on the tractor to mow and tell his stories.

He was proceeded in death by his wife, Joanne (DeHart) Becker who he met when they were 12 years old, singing in the choir at St. John’s Lutheran church.

Lou is survived by his children, Timothy Becker (Linda), Kathleen Fromknecht (Thomas), Brian Becker (Leslie) and Darrel Becker (Linda), all of Erie. He leaves 11 grandchildren, Darrell Becker Jr. (Jennifer), Cortney Becker (Justin), Gregory Becker, Kaitlyn, Kristine and Emily Fromknecht, Austin Becker (Ashley), Cameron and Emma Becker, Brianna Cragg (John), Chelsea Dahlquist (Andy) and 3 great grandchildren.

Lou is also survived by his sister Linda Sawdey and Godchild Christine Caserta (Larry).

Lou was a loving husband, father, and faithful friend, always ready to share a hand, laugh and a story. The world and community will be a lesser place with his passing.
