It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Lorraine Wetherbee. She was born in Erie on August 25, 1942 to Margaret Lobaugh. She grew up in Erie and was a proud 1960 graduate of East High School where she enjoyed being a majorette.
In 1962, she married her wonderful husband, Roy Wetherbee. They shared 44 years of marriage until his passing in 2006. She was a devoted mother to her four children whom she loved dearly.
She loved going to breakfast, tending to her flower gardens, watching her favorite shows, and taking rides around the beach with a stop to get her favorite ice cream. A talented artist and crafter, she could make anything. She loved to sew and crochet and made many beautiful curtains, afghans, and doilies which she gifted to her family and friends.
She adored Disney World and Mickey Mouse and had a room in her house affectionately called the “Mickey Room,” filled with Mickey Mouse memorabilia.
She worked at Super Duper as a meat wrapper and doing food demos at Giant Eagle. She loved to cook and always had a homemade meal on the table. Everyone looked forward to her Thanksgiving leftovers potpies.
Affectionately called “Nunnie” she absolutely adored her grandchildren and loved taking them to breakfast, having sleepovers, and playing games. They all have many fond memories of their times with her.
She was preceded in death by her mother, husband, and brother. She is survived by her children: Debbie Barger (Jeff), Daniel Wetherbee (Mary), David Wetherbee (Tammy), and Michael Wetherbee (Barb). She also leaves behind her grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Tim, Jeff, Scott (Kyecka), Robert (Kathryn), Brennan, Jenson (Michelle), Alexia, Austin (Andrew), Morgan (Jake), Mia, Gianna, Mason, Emory, Melia, Brody, Gwynne, August, Aiden, and Liam. She is also survived by her brother Doug (Nancy), sisters-in-law Darcie and Judy (Dick) and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
