Lola May Ellison

Lola May Ellison, age 93, died at Brevillier Village on Saturday, July 4, 2026, surrounded by friends and family.

She was the daughter of the late Donald W. and Inez (Stone) Ellison.

Lola graduated from the Millard Fillmore Hospital School of Nursing in Buffalo, NY in 1953 and was employed there until 1969. She attended D’Youville College in Buffalo and graduated in 1973 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree. Lola was then employed as a Clinical Instructor at the E.J. Meyer Memorial Hospital School of Nursing until 1976. She graduated from a Geriatric Nurse Practitioner program and, after completion, was employed as a Nurse Clinician at the New York Telephone Company. Her career took her to Roanoke, VA in 1981, where she worked as the Nursing Supervisor for C&P Telephone Company. She dedicated ten years to the role before retiring in December 1991 and moving back to Erie.

She is preceded in death by a brother, Donald W. Ellison Jr. and her companion of 31 years, June Marie Love.

Lola is survived by a nephew, Donald W. Ellison; niece, Elizabeth Ellison and several great nephews and nieces.

Friends are invited to Saint Barnabas Chapel at Brevellier Village, 5456 East Lake Road on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, for an 11:00 a.m. Memorial Service.
