Linda Platz

Linda Lee Whipple Platz 70, of Girard, passed away peacefully on December 21, 2022, surrounded by family.

She was born in Erie on August 14, 1952, the daughter of the late Leon and Mary Steen Whipple.  She attended Union High School in Girard and had a great appreciation for art and was a very creative and artistic person.  She also enjoyed donating her time with volunteer work in the local community and schools for many years.

In addition to her parents, she was proceeded in death by her daughter, Kimberly Ann Platz; and two sisters, Elizabeth (BettyLou) Whipple and Carolyn (Whipple) Miller, and her husband James R. Platz.

She is survived by her daughter, Wendy L. Meka and husband Joseph of Lake City; a son Jeffrey J. Platz and husband Eric G. Watts of Cleveland; two sisters, Teresa Buchholz of Girard; MaryAnn Leonard of Union City; granddaughters, Elizabeth, and Isabelle Meka whom she loved dearly; and further survived by many nieces and nephews.

Friends and Family may call at Burton Funeral Home, 525 Main Street East, Girard, on Friday December 30, 2022, from 3:00pm until 6:00pm and on Saturday December 31, 2022 from 10:00am until the time of service at 11:00am.  Burial will be private in Lowville Cemetery.
