Lawrence Christopher Smart

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Lawrence Christopher Smart on September 7, 2026.

Lawrence Smart was a truly wonderful man-one of God’s greatest works. His life was a beautiful example of kindness, love, faith, and devotion to the people he held dear.

Lawrence was a beloved husband, father, son, brother, and grandfather. Above all else, his family was his greatest treasure. He had a kindness that touched everyone, fortunate enough to know him. His gentle spirit, warm heart, and selfless nature will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of crossing his path.

Lawrence was born in Guernsey, Channel Islands on October 21, 1962, to the late Dennis and Barbara Smart. Lawrence is survived by his steadfast wife of 16 years, Annette Smart, his loving sister Jennifer Smart, his adored children Joshua Smart and Morgan Smart, his stepchildren Lauren Johnson, Manny (Heather) Rodriguez, Richard (Ivette) Rodriguez, and Adam (Roxana) Rodriguez, his treasured grandchildren Dominick, Kendall, Richard, Noah, Adam, Angelo, and Olivia.

His absence leaves a tremendous emptiness, but his love and the memories he created will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew him.

There will never be enough cardinals in the sky to make up for the loss of Lawrence. But when one appears, we’ll know it’s Heaven’s way of reminding us that his love is still near. A man as kind and loving as Lawrence could never truly leave us-he simply went home to God.

Rest peacefully, Lawrence. You were loved beyond words, and you will be missed beyond measure. Until we meet again in Heaven.

Family and friends are invited to call Saturday, September 12, 2026 at the Burton Quinn Scott Cremation and Funeral Services Inc., West Ridge, 3801 W.26th St., Erie, PA from 12 noon until 1:00 pm at which time Funeral Services will be held.
