Larry W. Lechtner, age 89 (although we’re telling everyone he was 90), passed away on Monday, April 1, 2024, at Avow Hospice in Naples, Florida.
He was born on May 31, 1934, in Erie, a son of the late Dr. Robert J. and Toni Greenbaum Lechtner.
Larry graduated from Strong Vincent High School in 1952, and Bradley University, Peoria, Ill. in 1957 where he was a member of Alpha Epsilon Pi Fraternity. He served in the Army National Guard from 1957 through 1962. Larry was the owner of Buyers Fair in Girard for 42 years, retiring in 2004.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Deanna “Sis” Rein, Lechtner and his daughter, Lisa Chinsky.
He leaves behind to cherish him in memory his daughter, Barbara Erlich (Scott), of Great Neck, NY; son Joey Lechtner (Cindy) of Ann Arbor, Mich.; son-in-law Kenny Chinsky of Erie; nine grandchildren: Andrew (Allie) Chinsky and Daniel Chinsky of Atlanta, Sara Chinsky of Bloomington IL; Jacob Erlich, David (Katie) Erlich and Allison Erlich all of Manhattan, NY; Jimmy Lechtner of Boston; Ryan Lechtner of Raleigh; Steven Lechtner of Ann Arbor, Mich; a brother Richard M. Lechtner (Bonnie), of Naples; a sister Kathy Epstein of Baltimore, MD; Great Grandchildren Emmie Chinsky and Lucas Chinsky of Atlanta; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services scheduled at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 4, 2024, at Temple Anshe Hesed, 5401 Old Zuck Road, Erie PA 16506 with Rabbi S. Robert Morais officiating. Burial in Laurel Hill Cemetery. Arrangements in care of the Burton Quinn Scott Cremation & Funeral Services Inc. Downtown, 602 W. 10th St.
