Kimberly Ann McCain

February 18, 1966 — October 28, 2023

It is with profound sorrow the family of Kimberly Ann McCain (Kephart) share the loss of their daughter, sister and beloved aunt on Saturday October 28, 2023.

Kim was born Feb 18, 1966 to Bruce J Kephart Sr and Rosemary Kephart (McNamara).

Kim was a 1984 graduate of Academy High School. After graduation she enlisted in the United State Air Force, serving 6 proud years in San Antonio, Texas. Her time in the USAF included service during Desert Shield and Desert Storm.  After completing her service Kim settled in Athens GA and began studies in education at University of Georgia. She completed her Bachelor’s degree and went on to complete a Master’s degree in Education at Troy University.

She taught for several years in Athens Georgia and returned to Erie to teach in the Erie School District until her retirement in 2021.  Kim loved to travel.  She visited Ireland, New Orleans, Las Vegas and spent 5 weeks traveling and hiking the Pacific Northwest. She enjoyed board games and chess matches with her niece and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her mother Rosemary; maternal grandparents, Theodore and Alma Schmidt McNamara and paternal grandparents, Bruce and Mary Marsh Armagost.

Kim is survived by her father, Bruce Sr., sisters Kellie Walker (Rob), Kristen Sinnott (Christopher), brother Bruce Jr. (Lisa), niece Emma Kephart, Nephews Kyle Walker (Andrea), Robby Walker (Jessica), Owen Sinnott, John Sinnott, Jack Kephart and Nolan Kephart. Further surviving are her aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.

Her niece and nephews meant the world to her and she had special bonds with each of them. They will miss her immensely. She is also leaves behind her rescue cat Gilbert.

Since her retirement Kim enjoyed spending time at the family property in Ripley, NY where she spent countless weekends enjoying the woods and spending time with family.

Words cannot express the depths that she will be missed. Our hearts are broken.
