Keemes Gary Potter, 75, of Erie, passed away Saturday, September 1, 2018. Born June 27, 1943 in Jackson, KY, he was the son of the late Robert and Lula (Richardson) Potter. Keemes graduated from Academy High School in 1963. He later retired from Steris Corporation after 32 years of service.Keemes was a member of Elmwood Presbyterian Church. He was an avid hunter, enjoyed gardening and taking his dog ‘Annie’ for a walk throughout the neighborhood to visit neighbors. He was preceded in death by two children, a son, Gregory Potter in infancy and a daughter, Jennifer Potter; one brother, Hershel Potter and two sisters, Mary Macie and Deborah Potter. He is survived by his wife, Susan (Wickersham) Potter and two children, Julie (Ken) Little and Christopher Potter; two grandchildren, Austin and Morgan Little; three sisters, Barbara Jo, Fairlena and Amy and a brother, Larry in addition to many nieces and nephews.Friends may call at the Burton Westlake Funeral Home, 3801 West 26th Street, (at Powell Ave.) on Friday, September 7, 2018 from 5:00 PM to the time of service at 7:00 PM.Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 1600 Peninsula Dr., Suite 15, Erie, PA 16505.
