Kathleen Thompson

Kathleen Batchelor “Gummy” Thompson, age 58, of Erie, passed away Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at home.

She was born in Erie, PA on April 20, 1958 a daughter of Arlene Walston. She was a 1975 graduate of McDowell High School and received her degree in nursing from Gannon University.

Kathleen worked as a registered nurse with St. Mary’s East and various other medical facilities in Erie and was a past member of the Maennerchor Club. She loved hiking and camping. Kathleen was preceded in death by her husband David S. Thompson.

Along with her mother she is survived by a daughter, Christine Thompson and her significant other, Michael Szymanowski of Erie, a son, Louis Ross Thompson and his wife Sabra of North East, PA, three sisters; Cynthia DeHaven and Heather DeHaven both of Erie and Leigh Ellen DeHaven. She also leaves five grandchildren; Alexander, Caydence and Selene Thompson and Blake and Kendall Szymanowski.

Friends may call at Burton Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 602 West 10th St. Erie, Pa. 16502 on Friday from 4:00 pm till the time of sharing there at 6:00 pm. Memorials may be made to the family C/O Burton Funeral Home.
