Karol Anne (Biletnikoff) Martin, 73, passed away peacefully on September 12, 2026, at her daughter’s home, surrounded by her loving family.

Karol was born in Erie, PA on December 5, 1952, to the late Matthew “Jake” and Anne (Lanigan) Biletnikoff.

She graduated from Strong Vincent High School and attended Villa Maria College, where she earned her degree in nursing. Her nursing career began in the NICU at Hamot, where she loved caring for young, fragile lives. From there, she worked in a variety of nursing roles at Community Health Net, General Electric, and the Perseus House. Karol retired in 2019 after a 35 year career as a registered nurse.

Karol enjoyed sunsets, listening to music, eating Chick-fil-A, watching game shows, and cheering on her beloved Cleveland Browns and Indiana Fever. But Karol’s greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her six grandchildren, who lovingly called her Nene K. She loved attending all of their sporting events and activities and was always one of their biggest fans.

Karol, “Nene K,” will be missed deeply but fondly remembered for her humor, kindness, and warmth. She was the best mom and Nene anyone could ask for.

Besides her parents, Karol was preceded in death by her sister, Kathy Olesky.

Karol is survived by her children; Michelle (Christopher) Serafini, Joseph (Heather) Martin, Matthew Martin, and Daniel (Brittany) Martin; her grandchildren, Gabriella, Samantha, Madison, and Isaac Serafini, and Kinley and Kennedy Martin; one brother, Daniel (Beth) Biletnikoff; and three sisters, Beverly Gindlesperger, Diane (Paul) Sekinger, and Nancy (Dave) Murzynski. She is also survived by her beloved kitty, Tally Ho, as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
