Karen B. Elder, 70, of Erie, passed away Tuesday, March 24th, 2026, at Nightingale Nursing & Rehabilitation.
She was born on July 19, 1955, in Erie, the daughter of the late Robert E. and Mary B. (Brown) Dillon.
Karen graduated from East High School, class of 1973. She was PTA President at Diehl Elementary School for a number of years. She enjoyed bowling, playing tennis, and jazzercise. She was the heart of her home, a devoted listener to her loved ones, and a cherished friend to many.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers, Robert E. Dillon, Jr. and James P. Dillon.
Karen is survived by her husband of nearly 50 years, David A. Elder; and her children, Jennifer E. Applebee (William), and Matthew D. Elder.
Friends are invited to call at Burton Quinn-Scott Cremation and Funeral Services, 602 W. 10th St., Erie on Thursday, March 26th from 2 PM until 4 PM and from 6 PM until 8 PM. And are invited to attend the funeral service there on Friday at 11 AM. Burial will follow in Erie County Memorial Gardens.
