Judith “Judy” Ann (Reisenauer) Nordin passed away peacefully on August 20, 2025 at the age of 85.
She was born in Erie, PA on July 31, 1940, as the daughter of Arthur and Mary Reisenauer. She grew up with her brother Arthur and was nicknamed “Jukebox” for her conversational and musical attitude. Judy graduated from Academy High School in 1958 and after graduation, she worked at the Erie Motor Club then later General Electric – where she met the love of her life, Donald Nordin. Judy and Don were married on March 30, 1962 at Zion’s Lutheran church. They were happily married for 55 years.
Judy worked as an Executive Assistant at McDowell High School for 20 years. After retirement she enjoyed the next 20 years living as “snowbirds” in North Ft. Myers, Florida playing cards, golf, and line dancing with Don. She and Don bestowed their love of Canasta to their children and grandchildren. Judy had a love of books, with a particular interest in American presidents. She was astute to the history of England and loved literary classics. She eventually learned to love the game of Mahjong with friends and was an avid knitter.
Later in life following Don’s passing, she met new friends and enjoyed socializing with neighbors at Parkside at Westminster. She was particularly fond of “the talk”, coffee and donuts, and other outgoing activities. She was a long-time member of the Abiding Hope Lutheran church and had previously been a member of Zion’s Lutheran church. Most of all though, she enjoyed spending time with her 5 wonderful grandchildren.
Judy was preceded in death by her son, Donald S. Nordin Jr (1962-2025), and is survived by her brother Arthur Reisenauer (Candy) of Erie; son James Nordin (Annette Lucas) of Pittsburgh; daughters Janice Nordin of Aberdeen, MD; and Jennifer Ng (Dr. Brian Ng) of Fairview, PA, in addition to five grandchildren ; Kathryn and Victoria Rambo, Jonah and Bradley Ng, and Ella Nordin.
