Joseph Helsley

Joseph H. Helsley, age 74, of Erie, passed away on Friday, August 19, 2022, at his residence.

He was born in Erie on March 1, 1948, a son of the late Frank G. and Agatha H. LaQue Helsley.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War from September 5, 1967 until September 4, 1969 and was honorably discharged.

He graduated from Wattsburg High School in 1966. Joseph worked as a Long Shore man at Codan and as a sign man at Penn Dot.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Richard and Edward Helsley.

He is survived by his wife, Cheryl L. Angelotti Helsley, four children, Cheri A. (Chris) Borges, Joseph A. (Tammy) Helsley, Jmie (Michael) Huster and Walter Michalczik (Darlene Crick) and four grandchildren, Alex Borges (Tahoora), Katelyn Borges, Nathan Huster and Megan Huster.

He is further survived by four siblings, David Helsley, Cliff (Marilyn) Helsley, Marilyn Hale and Eleanor Beer and a sister-in-law, Agnes Helsley.

Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
