Joseph D. Cifelli, age 91, passed away on Monday, June 2, 2025, at Pleasant Ridge Manor.
He was born in Erie on August 6, 1933, son of the late Nicholas and Mary Guranio Cifelli.
He served in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict and went on to work at the Red Barn Restaurant.
Joseph was a member of The First Assembly of God Church, the American Legion Post #773, the M.S. Society, and Steady Strivers.
Joseph enjoyed reading the bible, playing cards and doing word searches. He also loved listening to his grandson Jeff play the trombone. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie E. Cifelli; two brothers, Danny Cifelli and Mike Cifelli and two sisters, Carmella Holden and Antonette Chiocco.
He is survived by his daughter Mary E. Dieteman and her husband Robert of Douglasville, PA, a son Brian S. Cifelli of Erie, a brother, Mike Cifelli; a sister, Joann Young, of Texas, and two grandsons, David and Jeffrey Dieteman.
Friends may call at the Burton Quinn Scott Cremation and Funeral Services, Inc., West Ridge 3801 W. 26th Street on Monday, June 16th from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 12:00 p.m. Burial to follow in Erie County Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family for the future education of Joseph’s grandsons, David and Jeffrey.
