John Jenkins

John J. Jenkins, age 84, of Erie, passed away on December 20, 2022, in Erie, Pa. Born May 12, 1938, the son of Henry J. and Alvina Theobald Jenkins.

John was a 1957 graduate of East High School and was employed by National Fuel Gas for over 36 years.

A man of remarkable vigor, he was an avid runner which eventually culminated in his run in the 1983 Boston Marathon 10K.  He loved hunting, fishing, his many motorcycles, his Corvette and his horse, Cheyenne. John enjoyed retirement for 15 years in Oro Valley Arizona, where he added daily swimming to his activities. 

He is survived by his wife, Jane (Cuthbert) Jenkins and sons, Gregory (Marcy) and Jeffrey (Julia) Jenkins as well as his grandchildren, Jeannie (Eric) Haak, Meagan (Mat) Kirtland, Ryan (Jenna) Jenkins, and Kevin and Lauren Jenkins, and three great grandchildren.  Further survivors include his brother, Paul V. (Kathy) Jenkins and brother-in-law, Richard (Anita) Cuthbert; niece, Holly (Carl) Bachmann, nephews, Patrick Jenkins and Brady Cuthbert. 

A man on the move is meant to be celebrated, and so we shall.  A celebration of John's life will be held mid-2023.
