John F. Coughlin

John F. Coughlin, age 83, of Erie, passed away on Monday, November 3, 2025, at The Residence at Presque Isle Bay.

He was born on February 15, 1942, a son of the late Francis and Catherine McLaughlin Coughlin.

John graduated from Tech High School and was employed as an inspector for both AMSCO and Steris for 34 years. He enjoyed fishing in his early years. He loved helping his son race cars locally and NASCAR. After retirement he enjoyed golfing with his wife.

In addition to his parents, John was predeceased by his wife Dixie Lee Coughlin, in 2011, and his brother Lawrence Coughlin.

He is survived by his son, John W. (Debbie) Coughlin, of Erie, and a granddaughter, Kelly (Tony) Wood, of Houston, TX. John is further survived by his brother Dennis (Betty) Coughlin, of McKean; great grandson, Tyler; great granddaughter, Lilah; and many nieces and nephews including Chris & Kim Coughlin.

Friends may call at the Burton Quinn-Scott Cremation and Funeral Services, West Ridge, 3801 W. 26th Street, on Monday from 4 to 7pm, and are invited to attend services there Tuesday at 11am, followed by interment in Calvary Mausoleum.
