John Barnes

John Wesley Barnes, age 77, of Erie, passed away at his residence on Friday, December 9, 2016. He was born September 21, 1939, a son of the late Ephrem and Margaret McGinnis Barnes.

John was a member of the Friendship Baptist Church and was employed by Zurn Industries for over 30 years. He was a family man and enjoyed fishing and playing cards.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mae Francis Barnes; two brothers, Jim and Jeff Barnes; three sisters, Juanita McLaurin, Ruby Lee Harper and Lina Barnes.

Survivors include his son, John Barnes, Jr.; his brother, John L. Barnes and his sister Carrie Mae Gamble.

Friends may call at Friendship Baptist Church, 1719 Cascade Street, Erie, PA 16502 on Saturday, December 17th from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service at 3:00 p.m., with Pastor Danny Stanton presiding.
