JoAnn Werth peacefully passed away to eternal life on October 30, 2025. JoAnn, daughter of the late John and Elizabeth (Ciotti) Gross, was born in Erie, PA on January 23, 1943.

JoAnn graduated from McDowell High School and attended Erie Business College. She had a long working career beginning with the W. T. Grant Company, working for many years at Allied Aluminum, and retiring from Seaway Manufacturing Corporation’s Customer Service Department in 2007. For many years, she owned and operated the Apple Tree Ltd #3 at 28th & Elm St. in Erie, PA.

JoAnn was a lifelong member of St. Paul’s Roman Catholic Church and an active volunteer for the Italian Festival. She also served as President of the St. John of God Society where she worked for many years with the Sisters of St. Joseph food kitchen and the Monday night dinners.

JoAnn was a member of the Siebenbueger Ladies Auxiliary and the former Erie Maennerchor Club. She enjoyed going to GECAC on Tuesdays and playing bingo.

JoAnn enjoyed traveling, especially the many cruises abroad. She also enjoyed playing bocce, dominos, and cards with family and friends.

In addition to her parents, JoAnn was preceded in death by her baby daughter, Elizabeth, her former husband, Kenneth Werth, a special cousin, Jack Southworth, and many aunts and uncles.

JoAnn is survived by her godchildren, Madison and Anna, her dear friends, Laura, Dan, and Mary, and many special cousins, especially Janice and Carla.

Funeral arrangements and entombment in Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum were handled by the Burton Quinn Scott Cremation and Funeral Services Inc, West Ridge, 3801 W.26th St., Erie.

JoAnn is having a private burial but wished to be remembered by all “with a smile.” Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriner’s Hospital for Children, the Dr. Gertrude Barber National Institute, or St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
