Joan Huegel

Joan Huegel, age 90, of Erie, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, January 20th, 2026, at her residence.

She was born June 3rd, 1935, in North Kingsville, OH, the daughter of the late Ray and Duelcie (Brechbiel) Howe.

She was president of the Erie Council of Republican Women for many years. She was very giving and charitable, she loved donating to various charities. She always put her family first and enjoyed taking care of her children and grandchildren above all else.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Martin P. Huegel, in 2008; brothers, Frank and Ray Brechbiel; sister, Verna; and an infant sister.

Joan is survived by her children, Martin R. Huegel, James W. Huegel, and Joan M. Huegel; four grandchildren, Monica Huegel, Kevin, Joshua, and Alexis Deck; three great grandchildren, Harmony, Melody, and Russell.

Private arrangements have been entrusted to Burton Quinn-Scott Cremation and Funeral Services, Downtown, 602 W. 10th St., Erie. Burial will take place in Erie Cemetery.
