Janet L. Casey

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Janet L. Casey, who passed on the morning of November 11, 2025, at the age of 82, at her home.

She is one of six children and the only daughter of the late Eric and Althea (Blystone) Anderson and was born on May 21, 1943, in Erie, Pennsylvania,

Janet loved her flower beds and digging in the dirt. She was a homemaker and enjoyed cooking, crafting, quilting, and sewing. Janet had the ability to connect with others, earning her a place on everyone’s mailing lists and was thought of as "everybody's grandma." Her husband, Dennis, stated that the one word that best described her is "precious."

Janet had a kind and loving presence that drew people to her, creating a world that was a much better place for her being in it. She also held a special place in her heart for puppies.

In addition to her parents, Janet is preceded in death by three brothers, Art Anderson (Mary) , Jim Anderson (Carol) and Leroy Anderson (Kathy).

She leaves behind to cherish her in memory, her loving husband of 28 years, Dennis Casey; children, Sherri Giannone (Rob), Shannon Sparrow (Gary), Greg Southard (Megan), Michael Casey (Sheila), Mark Casey and Matthew Casey and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is further survived by two brothers, Dave Anderson (Helen) and Don Anderson and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends are invited to call at the Burton Funeral Home, 525 Main Street East in Girard, on Monday, November 17, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A 10:00 a.m. funeral service will be held on Tuesday at Sterrettania Alliance Church, 6750 West Road, and she will then be laid to rest in Sterrettania Cemetery.
