Jane Arrowsmith

March 23, 1917 — January 2, 2013

"Marjorie" Jane Streuber Arrowsmith, 95, of Forestview and formerly of 302 Indiana Drive, Erie, died Wednesday, January 2, 2013.

Born in Erie on March 23, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Alice Veeder Streuber.

In 1936, Jane graduated from Strong Vincent High School and then married her husband, the late Harold F. Arrowsmith, Sr. She enjoyed gardening, travel, and, most of all, doting on, tending to, and cooking for her adoring family and friends. She was active for many years in Hamot Hospital Aid Society, the PTA, Cub Scouts, and several other charitable organizations. Jane also worked for many years at Lords and Lassies Children's Store.

This kind and gentle woman will be sorely missed by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren who learned about the gift of giving through endless love and kindness. She was never without a smile.

She is survived by three son, David Arrowsmith, of Naples, FL and his children, David Arrowsmith, Jr. and Todd Arrowsmith; Harold Arrowsmith, Jr. and his wife Donna of Concord, OH and their children, Harold F. Arrowsmith, III (Nicole) and John Arrowsmith (Sharyn); Roger Arrowsmith and his wife Gail of Fleming Island, FL and their children, Shawn Hughes (Waughn) and Mark Arrowsmith (Brittany); and a daughter, Carol Schultz and her husband Jack of Erie and their children, Heidi Schultz, John V. Schultz, III (Kelley), Amy Leon, and Matthew Schultz (Dawn). She is also survived by 18 great-grandchildren, a sister, Helene (Spafford) Becker, and many nieces and nephews.

Jane was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years Harold Arrowsmith, Sr., a sister, Virginia (Arthur) Sheriff, a brother, Harry Streuber, Jr., and a daughter-in-law, Sara Cox Arrowsmith.
