Erie

James D. “Jim” Joint went peacefully to be with the love of his life, Marianne Marie Moore Joint, on May 2nd, 2024. He was born in Erie, PA on April 24th, 1931, to the late Charles Joint and Mary Blossey Joint.

Jim worked as a Master Plasterer for many companies. He took great pride in his craftsmanship and his work could not be compared. He then worked at Inland Container for many years, retiring in 1993. One of his greatest joys was coaching boys’ baseball for the Anthony Wayne League for 20 years. He coached the Knights of Columbus team for many years and was coach of the year for 5 of those years. He truly loved and was proud of his baseball kids as well as his 3 sons, who played on his team. His coaching abilities led him to the All-Star games for many years. After his retirement, he enjoyed travelling with his wife, gardening, and was an avid coin collector. One of his greatest passions was golfing with family and friends. He also bowled on leagues for the Huzar’s Club and East Erie Turners of which he was an active member for over 50 years.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Mary Blossey Joint, his wife Marianne Marie Moore Joint, his brother Charles Joint, sisters Geraldine Nosko, Marianne “Jo” Joint, Patty Roberts, Charlene Joint, and Louise Joint, two children, Joseph John Joint, and Charlene Joint Williamson, son in law Norman Williamson and daughter in law Joyce Joint.

Jim is survived by his sister Helen Joint, his children James J. Joint (Michelle), Donald P. Joint (Brice), Cindy Joint, John M. Joint (Kim), and Marianne “Bunch” Cheesebrough (Greg), grandchildren Jennifer, Jimmy, Josh, Gregory, Kyle, Tracey, Kiersten, and Jacob, great-grandchildren Breyauna, Victoria, Casey, Mia, Oliver, Aubrey, Mickey, Cecelia, Elias, Kensington, Owen, Cameron, Holland, Thalia, Penelope, and Lena, and great-great-granddaughter Harper. He was a devoted husband, father, and friend. Words cannot express how truly great of a man he was.
