James R. Clark

James R. Clark, 79, of Erie, PA, passed away Sunday, July 5, 2026, at St. Vincent Hospital in Erie. He was born January 13, 1947, in Brookville, PA, a son to the late Robert E. and Frances (Makara) Clark. He graduated from McDowell High School and Penn State University. He retired from General Electric as a Quality Control Engineer.

Jim was a faithful parishioner of St. John’s Lutheran Church. His easy-going nature and helpful spirit was enjoyed by those around him. He enjoyed the outdoors and was an active member of the Wales Sno-Drifters Snowmobile Club. He could never sit still for long and was always looking for his next project and helping somebody with theirs.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Carol (Harayda) Clark, a granddaughter, Hayley Clark, and a stepsister, Lisa Diederich.

Jim is survived by his wife, Barbara Clark; his stepmother, Lurene Martin Clark; a son, Jeffery Clark, and his wife, Linda; a daughter, Christine Chapman, all of Erie; stepdaughter, Kimberly Acri and her husband, Greg; and stepson, Christopher Hinkle; a brother, Ted Clark and his wife Rebecca, of Alpharetta, GA, and a sister, Valerie Taylor, of Milwaukee, WI. Jim is also survived by three grandchildren, Alex and Lauren Clark, and Carlianne Chapman.

Friends may call at Burton Quinn-Scott Cremation and Funeral Services, Wintergreen, 2532 Norcross Rd., on Friday, July 10th, 2026, from 4 PM until the time of service there at 6 PM. Private burial will take place in Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Saint John’s Lutheran Church memorial fund in care of the funeral home.
