James Harold Beerbower, Jr. (Jim), age 56, of Erie, passed peacefully into the arms of the Lord on Thursday, December 18, 2025, with his loving family and friends by his side.
He was born on March 12, 1969, and was the son of the late James Harold Beerbower, Sr., and his mother, Peggy (Margaret) Beerbower, who lovingly raised him.
James was a graduate of Central High School, Class of ’88. Following graduation, he was employed at Erie Forge & Steel, where he worked as a laborer until 2001. A lifelong sports enthusiast, James proudly supported the Raiders, Cavaliers, Celtics, and the Chicago Blackhawks and was well known as one of the biggest Shaquille O’Neal (Shaq) fans in Erie. He valued his community deeply and cherished the relationships he built throughout his life. Remembered for his playful personality and quick sense of humor, James had a special way of bringing a smile to those around him and took pride in being an active voice for advocacy and social change within his community.
In addition to his father, James was preceded in death by his sister, Cindy Beerbower.
James is survived by his devoted partner, Terri Miller; his children, Andrew Beerbower (Amber Schultz), Nicholas Beerbower (Stefany Braden), and Rebecca Ahmad (Wameed); and his grandchildren, Alexis, Aubrey, Avalee, Andy, Jazmine, Wameed Jr., and Arianna. He is also survived by DJ Roberts, Brandon Roberts, and Marissa Roberts; his siblings, Tom Beerbower, Randy Beerbower, Buffy Beerbower, Kim Beerbower, Misty Beerbower, Rachel Barron, and Maria Melindas; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
Friends may call at Burton Quinn-Scott Cremation and Funeral Services, 602 W. 10th Street, Erie, PA, on Saturday, December 27, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m.
