James A. Doleski age 88, of Fairview, passed away on Sunday, August 9, 2026, at UPMC Hamot.

He was born in Erie on March 6, 1938, a son of the late Leo Frank and Frances Wisnewski Doleski.

Jim graduated from Cathedral Preparatory School in 1956 and went on to attend St. Mark’s seminary for two years and then graduated from Gannon College in 1962 with a degree in accounting.

He owned and operated the family business Leo’s Car Wash for many years.

Jim enjoyed golfing and was a member of Lake Shore Country Club. He had a passion for biking and farming in Elgin, PA at his cottage and also enjoyed wintering in Arizona with his wife, Janet. Jim was also famous for his handpicked dill pickles.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Janet McKulen Doleski; a son, James “Doug” Doleski; a brother, Rev. Leon Doleski and a brother-in-law, John Weber.

He is survived by a son, Dr. Kenneth Andrew Doleski and his wife Tracy; two daughters, Christine Marie Specht and her husband Rev. Mark Specht and Debra Bindseil and her husband Dr. Richard Bindseil; a daughter-in-law, Michele Doleski Nogacek and her husband David; a sister, Diane Weber; 8 grandchildren, Kiera, Amanda, Alex, Valeri, Oksana, Lars, Sierra, and Jordan; and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Burton Funeral Home 525 Main Street East, on Friday, August 14th, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 12 noon. Burial to follow in Calvary cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pennsylvania State Grange: Edinboro Grange 947, 1616 H. St., Ste 300, Washington, DC 20006 or a charity of one’s choice.
