Jack H. Rocco of Erie, PA, age 85, passed away surrounded by his loved ones at his home on March 19, 2026. He was born in Erie on March 30, 1940 to the late Frank and Genevieve (Riazzi) Rocco.
Upon graduating from Strong Vincent High School, Jack was called to service with the U.S. Army and served from 1961 to 1963. He spent many years working in grocery stores like A&P and Golden Dawn before teaming up with his brother-in-law, Joe, to open J & J’s Food and Meat Market. Jack eventually hung up his work boots in 2006, retiring as the maintenance supervisor for the Housing Authority of the City of Erie after a fulfilling career.
Jack was truly a family man. He loved hosting gatherings, especially during holidays, where he would whip up his famous dishes for everyone to enjoy. He was known for his big heart and generous spirit, always ready to lend a hand. And while he had a warm, nurturing side, he was also straightforward and genuine, never hesitating to share his thoughts or feelings.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters Belinda (Joe) Qualtiere and Gilda Malinowski.
Jack leaves behind his beloved wife of 66 years, Norma, with whom he shared many wonderful memories; his son, Jack Rocco of MA; his daughter, Lisa (Anthony III) Jenco of Erie; grandchildren Jennifer (Justin) Luttrell, Anthony (Rachel) Jenco IV, Sophia Rocco, and James Rocco; as well as five great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Armand (Linda) Rocco, brother-in-law Leonard Malinowski, and several nieces and nephews.
