Inez B. Williams

Inez B. Williams, age 85, of Erie, passed away Saturday, July 15, 2023 at her residence. She was born in Natchez, Mississippi, July 25, 1937 to the late James Russell Bruce and Corine Butler Bruce.

Inez worked for UPMC Hamot Hospital for over 40 years on the floors, working as a Nurses Aid, the clinic, and information desk. She was a blessed woman and loved very much by family and those who knew her. She served as president of the Usher Board for over 20 years at Greater Bethlehem Temple Church. Inez loved to visit the sick and help people when she could. She worked as a foster parent to a number of children. She liked setting tables and loved her dolls.  

Inez is survived by her four children, Debra Sansom, James Williams, Willie Williams III, and Vincent Williams (Sherri). She is further survived by her grandson Terrence Sansom, and a host of grand and great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Inez is survived by her aunt Mary Gattinson of Bridgeport, CT, the last surviving sibling of her mother, and by her sisters Corine Dixon, and Lucille Perry.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Willie Williams Jr.

The family would like to thank Burton Funeral Home for preparing her for her homegoing, and her church family at Greater Bethlehem Temple Church for the help they provided the family.

Friends are invited to call on the family Saturday, July 22, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m. at Greater Bethlehem Temple Church, 4103 Washington Ave, Erie. Burial to follow in Erie Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Burton Quinn Scott Cremation & Funeral Service Inc. Downtown, 602 West 10^th Street, Erie.
