Gregory William Ralph, age 68 of Fairview, passed away peacefully at his home on April 30, 2025 after a valiant battle against cancer. Greg is now in glory with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
He was born in Erie on December 31, 1956 to the late William E. and Barbara Miller Ralph.
Greg graduated from Fairview High School in 1975. Upon graduation, he worked at Paragon Packaging. Greg then worked with his dad at DJ Mead where he was the manager of The Paper Factory. Greg transitioned to working for Russell Standard as a truck driver and worked as a machinist with Lake Erie Molded Plastics, until being diagnosed with small cell neuroendocrine carcinoma in January of 2025.
Greg’s Christian faith was the focal point of his entire life. He was a member and devoted volunteer at Erie Christian Fellowship for many years. Greg truly lived by the Scriptures and was always willing to help a friend (or a stranger) in need. He was an avid outdoorsman. His favorite pastime was hunting. He often went deer hunting in Pennsylvania, Ohio and New York. Greg’s best hunting buddies were his twin brother, Grant and his lifelong friend David Arthurs, along with his friend, Scott Steiner.
He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Ralph; siblings: Grant Ralph of Girard, Gwen Garbarino, Esq. and her husband G. Barrett Garbarino, Jr., Esq. of State College, and Gaylene Eckleberry and her husband Mark of Waynesburg. He is also survived by his nephew, Stokely Ralph; nieces, Haley Summerfield (Zachary) and Casey Baird and his great niece, Joanie May Summerfield. He’s further survived by his aunt, Vaska May Lewis and her husband, Tom of Millcreek; along with several cousins who he had the privilege of growing up with and spending time with those cousins, and his beloved grandparent’s “Goo” and Grandpa Ralph. They spent endless hours swimming and fishing in Walnut Creek; boating and swimming in Lake Erie and watching the elder family members work at Ralph Fisheries.
Greg received compassionate care at the end of his life from all of his AseraCare Hospice angels (especially Brandy, Kym, Darla & Aslan) and his Above and Beyond private caregivers. He treasured the time he spent reading scripture with Catherine and Carley and speaking about his Lord.
Friends are invited to call on the family on Sunday May 4, 2025 from 1:00 pm until the time of service at 2:00 pm at Burton Quinn Scott Cremation & Funerals Services Inc. West Ridge, 3801 W. 26th St., Erie. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery where Greg will be laid to rest with his parents.
Memorials may be made to the Erie City Mission, 1017 French St., Erie, PA 16501, www.eriecitymission.org, where Greg often volunteered his time to provide handyman services and evangelize for Christ.
