Gloria S. Wallen

Gloria S. Wallen, age 96 passed away on Wednesday February 12, 2025 at UPMC Hamot.

She was born in Franklin, PA on June 19, 1928, a daughter of the late Harry and Rose Ferrari Solle.

Gloria was a Title Clerk for several automobile dealerships including Ben Fresch Volkswagen, the Studebaker dealership, Harris Ford and most recently Gary Miller’s where she worked for 30 years, retiring in 2010. She was a founding member of St. Luke Catholic Church and the Uthman Choir. Gloria enjoyed gardening and her passion was taking care of her lawn, enticing many passersby to stop and admire.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death in 2005 by her husband of 56 years, Edwin J. Wallen and a brother, Pete Solle.

Gloria is survived by two sons, Gary Wallen (Becky) of Erie and Chris Wallen (Leslie) of Pittston, PA; a daughter, Kim McCafferty (Bryan Barnes) of Erie; a brother, Alfred Solle of Pinehurst, NC; six grandchildren, Brett Wallen (Rachel) of Chantilly, VA, Dr. Tyler Wallen (Vicki) of Shaverton, PA, Andrew Wallen (fiancé Victoria Schaetzle) of Las Vegas, NV, Brooke Wallen of Erie, Joseph McCafferty of Erie, Carly McCafferty of Erie. She’s further survived by 5 great grandchildren, Luke Wallen of Shavertown, James Wallen of Shavertown, Paige Wallen of Chantilly, Claire Wallen of Chantilly and Owen Morris of Erie, and several nephews.

Friends may call at Burton Quinn Scott Cremation and Funeral Services Wintergreen, 2532 Norcross Rd., Erie, PA on Monday February 17, 2025 from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm and are invited to attend funeral services the following day at St. Luke Catholic Church, 421 E. 38th St. Erie, PA at 10:00 am officiated by Fr. Joseph Czarkowski.

Gloria will be laid to rest in Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery.
