Gerald A. (Pete) Donahue, age 93 of Fairview, passed away on Saturday, September 20, 2025 at Pleasant Ridge Manor. He was born January 2, 1932 in McKean, PA, he was the son of Fay Clifford and Daisy (Mitchell) Donahue. Gerald was born and raised on his parent’s dairy farm in McKean and graduated from McKean Joint High School in 1950.

He married his high school sweetheart, Delores M. Luciano in 1951 and took care of her in her final years until her death in 2000.

He worked for Union Storage in Erie from 1950-1952 as a laborer, and for Lord Manufacturing in Erie from 1952-1994 in the metal process and then the carpenter shop until he retired.

Gerald built two of his own homes and helped build houses with his brothers-in-law Patrick and Paul of Luciano Builders.; with another brother-in-law, George Havern, as well as several on his own. He also enjoyed fishing in Canada with his friend, Edward Greener and went deep sea fishing in Mexico, where he caught an 8 ft sail fish. Gerald also enjoyed square dancing and country music. When his youngest daughter, Tammie, was in grade school he was the assistant coach for her softball team.

Gerald gave much of his time to family, friends, and many charitable organizations. He had volunteered for the Erie Habitat for Humanity House builds, the Erie Overflow Homeless Shelter and an Adopt A Pet event at Pleasant Ridge Manor. He was a member of the Fairview American Legion, the Siebenbuerger Club, the McKean Ushers Club, the Elks Club and the Moose Club.

Gerald was preceded in death by his wife, Delores; his daughter, Crystal Kidder; his son, Jeffery; brothers, Richard, Jack, Herbert and Kenneth; sisters, Jeanne Havern and an infant sister, and son-in-law, Timothy Brink.

He is survived by his son, Terrance (Kathleen) of Fairview and daughter, Tammie Brink of Akron; a sister, Joyce Harrison; a brother, James (Agnes); sisters-in-law, Rose Donahue and Darlene Donahue; brother-in-law, Paul (Lewanna) Luciano; son-in-law, D. Robert Kidder, as well as 8 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Erie Habitat for Humanity or Pleasant Ridge Manor.

Calling hours will be at Burton Funeral Home Girard, 525 Main Street East, Girard, PA 16417 on Wednesday September 24 from 2 pm until time of service at 5 pm in the All Faiths Chapel. Private burial will be for family only.
