Frank Jo Himes, age 55 passed away on August 2, 2024. He was born on February 10, 1969 in Bradford, PA to the late James Edward Himes Jr. and Nancy Lee Jozefowicz.
Frank graduated from East High School in 1988. He studied Electrical and Industrial Engineering at Fortis Institute and worked as a machinist.
Frank was a Sergeant in the US Army serving during Operation Iraqi Freedom in Iraq and Kuwait. He received the Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal (5th Award), Army Good Conduct Medal (2nd Award), Army Reserve Components Achievement Medal, the National Defense Service Medal with Bronze star, Air Assault Badge, Driver and Mechanic Badge with Mechanic Clasp and the MLB Sharpshooter Qualification Badge. He also participated in the 1989 joint Australian/US Kangaroo Exercises, where he was awarded an Overseas Service Ribbon and was given the Humanitarian Services Medal for serving with the 25th Light Infantry Division task force in helping Hawaii recover from Hurricane Iniki in 1992. Frank served over 20 years in the military, retiring from the US Army Reserves as a Staff Sergeant. He was a big Green Bay Packers fan and enjoyed playing pool.
In addition to his parents, Frank is preceded in death by a daughter, Fiona and brother, Todd.
He is survived by Dawn Himes of Erie, PA; his son, Brent and several nieces.
Funeral services with military honors will be announced once scheduled.
